Building a New Website

Recently I decided to start building a brand new website. My main goal with this is to have somewhere where I can essentially write whatever I want within reason. The modern web is a clusterfuck and becomes incredibly depressing compared to how it used to be in the late 90s and early 00s.

Through this website and blog I am going to provide a place for me to put my thoughts, ideas, and information on projects that I am working on. I love messing around with things and have been starting to delve into alternatives to the major platforms.

Since switching to Linux and focusing on open source technologies, I have opened my eyes to just how much we can accomplish without having to rely on the major tech companies. Current events have made me feel like it would be better to disconnect from the Internet to an extent. Self-reflection has helped me realize that I can just change how I engage with the Internet.

I've been working on building out this site so I can get back to my roots. WordPress itself became such a corporate juggernaut that it lost sight of what people actually liked about it. We don't really have any major good online blog platforms like we did back in the day. There's Ghost, but I get a bit annoyed with some of the aspects of it.

Either way, I am going to work on this bit by bit to make it something I enjoy having around. I'll also be updating this on a regular basis so I can put my thoughts out there. I'll include some features to allow people to be able to provide feedback in the future, or to find me where I am at online.
