About Me
At my core I am an introvert, but I do enjoy the company of others from time to time.
At the age of 36 I am finding myself disconnected from the world around me. Part of that is for obvious reasons as we have a US government that doesn't seem capable of governing itself in a society that is on the verge of collapse. The other part is the fact that I never really fit into the conventional way of doing anything.
While I have tried a lot to meet the criteria of others, I have mostly given up on that. Instead, I have decided to live my life the way I want to live it.
I grew up in a military family. Moving around was something we did fairly often so I never really had a chance to settle down until I reached high school. Once I got out of high school, I managed to nab myself a job working for what was essentially an Internet start-up. While it was a pretty interesting job that taught me a lot about technology and the Internet, it was a very toxic and demanding culture that really destroyed most of my 20s.
From 2014 to 2018 I had fallen into some dark times as alcoholism and depression started to pull me down. COVID-19 did a lot of damage to me, and I have been trying to recover from that ever since.
Even though things aren't great right now, I have gotten back in touch with the things that made me who I am. I have done a lot of healing over the past five years after distancing myself from that previous toxic workplace. I've found a pretty good job at a company with a culture that actually cares about its people and have a family that is very understanding.
Over the next few years I plan to expand my skills both in technology and creativity to start putting things out into the world that are meaningful to me. I am to help others who are struggling with some of the things I have struggled with and am looking to meet some new people to find my next chapter in life.
Personality
First and foremost I am a bit of a goof.
I have a tendency to hyperfixate on things that are of interest to me. If someone asks me about those things, I have a tendency to talk about them in-depth a bit too much. I am getting better at that. Don't ask me about rhythm games. I can't shut up about them in general.
While I try to be as outgoing as possible, I am still an introvert at the end of the day. I do fine talking to large groups, but I actually struggle with interpersonal communication. I am doing a lot better than I used to, but I often need to recharge my batteries.
My mental health is a top priority, but physical health is also becoming a second priority. I do like to work out when I can make it work with my schedule. I expect 2027 to be a great year for that.
If you message me, I will try my best to respond on time. I sometimes forget not because it doesn't matter to me, but because my focus is ass. Feel free to ping me if I am not answering, just please don't be a jerk about it! If I am asleep, I'll do my best to answer first thing when I can!
Hobbies
Video Games
Ever since I was a young child I always had a deep interest in video games. My very first game ever was Tetris on the Gameboy. My earliest memories include playing on the NES, beating ALTTP after a really long journey, and really enjoying Pokemon Red.
Below are a list of the games that have most influenced my tastes over the years:
- Beatmania IIDX
- Sim City
- Dance Dance Revolution
- Diablo II
- Panel de Pon
- Puzzle Bobble
- Final Fantasy 9
- Earthbound
- Pokemon (specifically Red and Blue)
- Vegas Stakes
Lately, I have been really digging into simulation games as I find myself becoming more and more intrigued with them.
